Worcester Schubertiade | Intimate Classical

What is a Schubertiade?

During Schubert's lifetime, it was an intimate gathering of friends in a private home which featured Schubert's music, poetry readings, dance and other sociable pastimes.

Today, Worcester Schubertiade is Intimate Classical

Our mission is to present accessible live performances of vocal and instrumental classical music in an intimate setting; and cultivate the next generation through outreach and education.

Worcester Schubertiade Executive Director, Stanley Wilson and Metropolitan Opera Artist, Sondra Kelly, have established the Summer Lieder Intensive to help educate the performing artist of tomorrow toward improved creativity and understanding in the genre of German Romantic Lieder. This repertoire is an excellent building block for singers aspiring a career in any aspect of the performing arts from music education to concert singing or a career on the operatic stage.

Each participant will be assigned one song by each of the four composers to be studied. Throughout the two week intensive, you will receive multiple voice lessons working on technique, diction and bringing the song to life through communication of the story.
